The wall sculptures are made of pine and birch wood; Each piece of wood is sanded, hand painted in acrylic or wood dye colors mixed by me, making the sculpture unique. The sculpture is soft to the touch and receives a coat of finish to protect the colors. Who are we? We founded DB Sycamore in the Turkish city of Izmir with the aim of combining our separate expertise in interior design, industrial and graphic design, and textile design to create expressive objects that bring warmth and joy Our family name means "Sycamore Tree" in Turkish. The sycamore, which has been in existence for 100 million years and which can live for 600 years, has inspired us as a symbol of strength, protection and hope. It is these three things that we aim to bring into people's homes and lives. Each of our products is unique. Each has a distinctiveness that is shaped by its individual process of creation but that we believe will come to life through the meanings that you bring to it. BATIKAN ÖZÇINAR I graduated from Yaşar University's faculty of art and design with a double major in graphic and industrial design and later worked as a designer for an international furniture manufacturer based in Izmir. The excitement of bringing my designs to life and seeing them in people's homes inspired me to found DB Sycamore, with the aim of bringing design directly from the artist to the art lover. As a graphic and industrial designer, I aim to highlight the reflections of nature in materials and to find a balance between humans' interaction with nature and the modern world. DOĞUKAN ÖZÇINAR I graduated from Marmara University's department of fine arts, interior design, and environmental design. In my work as an interior designer, I value the chance of working with customers to create designs that met their individual needs. It was this sense of individual connection with the customer that I wanted to bring to DB Sycamore. As an interior designer, my work is inspired by the interaction between stillness and motion. I prioritise the interaction between artefact and space to create a sense of unity and strength. SEÇİL ÖZÇINAR I completed undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Izmir Dokuz Eylül University's department of textile design, with a special focus on the historical development of tapestries. I subsequently worked as a clothing designer for an international textile company. I believe the artefacts we choose in our homes or offices create an energy and help us to express our inner world. My artefacts are expressions of my own life experience. I admire the works of the fiber artists Sheila Hicks and Magdalena Abakanowicz. Like them, I believe that space and design are unified through the combination of art and craft.
