Mashru Silk is a very luxorios silk fabric which has silk sheen and a satin finish. Mashru is a silken, warp-faced fabric textile with a variegated pattern. In its weaving, the loom brings the cotton yarn down and the silk fibers up. This produces a cloth that exhibits a silk face and cotton backing. Hence it was a mix of silk and cotton, although with a satin finish. Making Mashru fabric is a pain staking task. The threads are brought together , weaved and then a hammering technique is used to bring that satin silken smooth finish. Mashru silk sarees are just another level of luxuiors weaves which are hard to create and ther are only few handful of weavers who weave this sarees.
