Imposter Syndrome
Creating art makes me so happy but the feeling of inadequacy always looms around my head. Even in my academics and internship, I can’t help but feel that I do not deserve to be here. For those who can relate to this, I feel you, girl. Imposter syndrome can make you feel like a fraud in rooms that you DO BELONG IN. But we need to keep reminding ourselves that we ARE qualified and deserving. So once that door opens, walk in and own it 👏
5 Affirmations to combat imposter syndrome
Imposter syndrome is a common experience that touches nearly everyone at some point in their lives. It’s that nagging feeling that despite your accomplishments, you’re somehow not good enough, not deserving of your success. Feeling like an imposter can be isolating, causing anxiety and self-consciousness both at work and in your personal life. It’s a silent struggle for many, as the fear of being “exposed” can be overwhelming. But remember, you’re not alone. Many of us battle these feelings, and there’s no shame in admitting it. To overcome imposter syndrome, we must confront it head-on. It starts with recognizing that perfection is an unattainable standard and that it’s okay not to have all the answers.
