IIEST Shibpur has made a landmark decision to implement a 6-month internship policy aimed at enhancing undergraduate students' employability and aligning academic activities with the NEP 2020 framework. Under this policy, students in their 7th semester can now undertake a one-semester internship during the 8th semester, in addition to the existing eight-week summer internship. This new policy provides students with greater flexibility, enabling them to engage in long-term internships that offer deeper industrial exposure. The initiative not only broadens students' opportunities but also strengthens the Institute’s ties with industry, boosting the chances of students receiving pre-placement offers and securing successful career pathways.
