#Sudan risks becoming the largest hunger crisis in recent history. With hundreds of WFP trucks en route to reach vulnerable communities all over the country, we need sustained access and safe passage.

🌍 The United Nations and humanitarian partners launched the Global Humanitarian Overview for 2025 on 04 December. 🚨 The numbers: ➡️ 305 million people globally need humanitarian assistance. ➡️ Over 123 million forcibly displaced by conflict. ➡️ US$47 billion needed to support nearly 190 million people in 72 countries. In 2024, humanitarian efforts: ✅ Delivered food to 72 million people. ✅ Provided health care to 26 million women and children. ✅ Supported 16 million people with protection services. 🔑 What’s needed: 1️⃣ Full funding for the GHO 2025. 2️⃣ Respect for international humanitarian law to protect civilians and aid workers. 3️⃣ Global solidarity to address the root causes of crises, from conflict to climate. 📢  Learn more on https://lnkd.in/eR4nrz6i #InvestInHumanity

WFP's 2025 Global Outlook outlines our commitment to reach those in need and the innovative solutions we'll implement to make this a reality. Conflict is a major driver, affecting 65% of the food-insecure population, while extreme weather events disrupt agriculture and worsen shortages. Additionally, critical funding shortfalls are hampering aid efforts. WFP aims to assist 123 million people in 2025, focusing on saving lives and building resilience.
