Coronation crown

The Queen has only ever worn St Edward's Crown on her Coronation Day. The crown was used by the Archbishop of Canterbury at the actual moment of coronation at Westminster Abbey.

The Imperial State Crown, made for the coronation of George VI in 1937, contains 2,868 diamonds, 11 emeralds, 17 sapphires, rubies and 273 pearls, and is nearly identical to Queen Victoria's State Crown of 1838. Royal Collection Trust.

The Great Imperial Crown was the main symbol of the power of the Russian monarchs between 1762 and 1917, from Catherine II until the overthrow of Nicholas II.
