a gorgeous antique gold ring with an amethyst stone. the amethyst is a new stone, a replacement for the original amethyst which was quite chipped. also at least one prong has been replaced, but very hard to tell which one. this ring is a Victorian era piece, it's been around the block. it has some markings but i am clueless as to their meaning, and some scratch marks on the inner band, likely where it was tested for gold content, which, by the way, is 10k. wonderful design work on the sides, and a slightly domed fairly wide band. size: falls between a 7.5 and a 7.75 height of face: just under 3/8" width of inner band: 3/16"
