Mary Muffet's affordable stylish ready to wear clothes carried a distinctive Label featuring a bonneted girl with open mouth and raised arms, an allusion to their fairy tale namesake. Mary Muffet's success followed a boom in the St Louis garment industry in the late 1930s and early 1940s. According to the Vintage Fashion Guild no dated garments carrying their label appear to survive after 1952-1954. This is the ONLY known garment to exist with the 1960s label, as such it retains historical significance.
