Advocate for strong laws and fair justice systems that protect survivors and deter violence. ✔️ Encourage governments to create, fund, and put into action National Action Plans that focus on stopping violence and supporting survivors. ✔️ Support organizations that champion women’s rights by providing resources to help them continue their work and ensure survivors get the help they need. ✔️ Invest in preventing violence by addressing its root causes. Educate communities, raise awareness, and challenge harmful practices that keep violence alive. ✔️ Make sure survivors can access essential services like safe shelters, counseling, legal aid, and healthcare. No survivor should face barriers when seeking help. ✔️ Get men and boys involved in being part of the solution. Encourage them to stand against violence and promote respect and equality in their communities. ✔️ Use technology to spread awareness, support survivors, and fight online violence. Digital spaces should be safe for everyone. ✔️ Work together with governments, organizations, and local communities to create sustainable, culturally sensitive solutions that protect women and girls. ✔️ Push for better data collection and research to understand the problem fully and find the best ways to solve it. Be a part of creating a world where women and girls live free from violence. 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲! #UNiTECampaign #EagleWings

Every woman and girl deserves to live a life free from fear, harm, and discrimination. Yet, violence against women and girls remains one of the most pervasive and devastating human rights violations globally. This isn’t just a statistic. It’s a call to action. The Ireland Embassy is committed to driving sustainable change by supporting local organizations on the ground. Through a tailored approach, the embassy has streamlined processes and minimized bureaucratic barriers, enabling local partners to access funding and resources more effectively. In the words of the Ireland Embassy Ambassador, Caitríona Ingoldsby "...We understand the unique challenges local organizations face in mobilizing resources. By reducing requirements and easing processes, we are actively de-risking local fundraising efforts, allowing communities to lead their own development pathways with agility and confidence." This localized focus not only amplifies impact but also empowers communities to take ownership of projects that foster resilience, inclusivity, and growth. #charter4change Charter4Change Kenya Working Group Save the Children International TINADA Youth Action Africa

Girls summit highlights. (10h &11th October 2024) Day 1 of the 6th Girl Summit in Kisumu was truly a day to remember! The energy was electric as girls and women from various parts of the county gathered, ready to make their voices heard and stand tall for change. The day kicked off with an inspiring opening session, featuring speeches from key leaders and role models who emphasized the power of young women to shape their futures and communities. Interactive workshops followed, where participants engaged in discussions on critical topics like menstrual health, climate change, and leadership development. The sessions were designed to equip the girls with knowledge, practical skills, and confidence. The enthusiasm and passion were undeniable, and by the end of Day 1, it was clear that these girls were not only empowered but ready to take the lead on issues that matter most to them. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and plenty of moments of self-discovery. Day 2: Girls and young women united again to present a thoughtful memorandum to key policymakers. This well-structured document articulated aspirations and concerns, offering strategic recommendations aimed at enhancing the welfare of girls throughout the region. The proposals included increasing budgetary provisions for menstrual hygiene products to ensure uninterrupted education for all girls, and integrating climate change education across multiple sectors. The girls also advocated for the establishment of rescue centers for flood survivors, improved reproductive health policies, and mentorship initiatives to cultivate future women leaders. Mental health support featured prominently, with a call for more accessible and affordable services across healthcare systems. Organizations present encouraged the County Government to reinforce its commitment to gender equality by reviewing and strengthening the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) policy. This truly was an exciting summit! #Eaglewings Stretchers Youth OrganizationTINADA Youth Action Africa (TYAAfriq)Jijenge Youth OrganizationCOUNTY GOVERNMENT OF KISUMUHivosAMREF
