Notes[]
- A Federation starship suffers an unexplained ship-wide systems failure for the last time until 2366. (TNG: "Evolution")
According to the Star Trek Chronology, 1st ed., pp. 75-76, this reference was made by Data, where he stated that "there has not been a system-wide technological failure on a starship in seventy-nine years," was in reference to the failure of the transwarp drive aboard the Excelsior. This was also partly supported in the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual (p. 14), which stated that "the attempt to surpass the primary warp field efficiency barrier with the Transwarp Development Project in the early 2280s proved unsuccessful…"
