A darker more realistic design for the sword from the IOS game "Infinity Blade"

I've always been intrigued by the Moonlight Greatsword from the ''Soulsborne'' series, I wanted to give it a go and do something in similar fashion.

Time doesn't seem to have any effect on this sword.. what do these runes mean ? :) Here is a work on model a game ready asset based on concept from the talented Crazy Lion, whom I thank for allowing me to use his work. It was a fun challenge to study and make a scene with it in Unreal. Modelling in Blender, texturing with Substance and render in UE4 and Marmoset 4.
