Metallic paint looks best when it’s sponge-painted on top of a black base coat. I made two test pieces, one base-coated in white and the other base-coated in black. I applied a thick coat of metallic paint all over with a brush on this one, and I used a barely moist sponge to dab the paint onto this one. I think the black one looks much more authentic. So, which one do you think looks better?
