I purchased these beautiful Memento Mori, Mourning Earrings years ago, and have never worn them. When I purchased them, I was told that the raised center, which is able to be removed by a jeweler, would contained a lock of a loved one's hair. I have never investigated this. They are gold with a seed pearl in the center. There's a draped ribbon of silver below. A gold bead hangs from the bottom. The background and trim is black enameled. I don't feel comfortable wearing dangling earrings, so I reluctantly decided to sell them. I hope they go to someone who will appreciate the design and the workmanship.
