It's set on an open and raised quatrefoil design with two small beads decorating the east and west sides of the ring. The beads are framed within circular forms that are essentially the repeating pattern of the petals in the quatrefoil. The quatrefoil is an abstraction that has been popular throughout history but especially in the art and architecture of the Gothic and Renaissance. This classical element gives the ring a sense of the old. Crafted in warm, rich, and weighty 18k yellow gold, this beauty is substantial both in its look and feel. It is a unique vintage find and an impressive ring. In fine vintage condition showing wear commensurate with age and use. Surface wear on the stone and tiny nibbles on the facet are visible with 10x magnification. Gently polished and ready to wear. Ring box for display only and not included in the ring purchase. Antique and vintage jewelry are sold as is. They are pre-owned and will bear signs of wear commensurate with age that may or may not have been stated in the product description. Metal surfaces could have light marks or scratches, and stones too, could have surface wear or sometimes chips. Evidence of repair could present themselves as imperfections as well because of the general technique and instruments available at the time. If I had been made aware that a stone was replaced and/or the piece was restored in any way I disclose that information in the product description.
