Upcycled Round Spool Coffee Table. I was able to salvage a few of these heavy duty spools to make in to nice round coffee tables. They are very heavy, mainly featuring Vietnamese Ironwood. They originally held 1750 feet of aircraft cable, weighing almost 2000lbs! After disassembly, I reset the nails- plane it and then sand and sand and sand it :) to give it a smooth finish. The 'big' table for our Tonnen Tumult lounge style seating is built from a 200-litre metal barrel. The table top as well as the storage area inside the barrel are made from reworked pallet boards. The boards are sanded, flamed and then clear varnished several times. An edge protector decorates all the finished edges of the table and the feet are made in an industrial style.
