my name is Jini, and it hasn’t been long since I discovered that we’re all capable of pottery our own food- and dishwasher-safe dishes at home.

👉🏼 First, I glazed one half of the plate with 9864 rose Rock.

👉🏼 The other half of the plate was glazed with 9301 Opal White.

👉🏼 Both glazes were applied in two layers, overlapping each other.

I made it so much more complicated than it needed to be.   Probably best to use soda ash or baking soda because of the chlorine off gassing of the salt especially if your kiln is in your home or workspace. It’s still a very low amount when it’s a light wash like this but good to know. Also another reason (of many!!) to make sure your kiln is properly ventilated. Mine is in my detached garage.   I have seriously been thinking about this on and off for at least 5 years but actually probably more. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve tried to google this with no luck.
