National Park in Assam. The park is named after the Manas River, a major tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra River. Located at the foothills of the Himalayas bordering Bhutan, Manas is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to Indian elephants, rhinoceros, gaurs, barasingha, tigers, leopards, chitals and a diverse range of other wildlife species.

MANAS NATIONAL PARK, India: is located in the Himalayan foothills. The park is known for its rare and endangered endemic wildlife such as the Assam Roofed Turtle, Hispid Hare, Golden Langur, & Pygmy Hog. There are two major biomes present in Manas. The grassland biome is home to pygmy hog & Indian rhinoceros. The forest biome is home to slow loris, capped langur, & wild pig. A 4th-century inscription mentions the region as frontier kingdoms of the Gupta Empire.
