Waldorf felt crafts

During winter we don't have so many outdoor activities because temperatures here are constantly below zero. But luckily there are tons of winter crafts and arts activities to make with kids and have cold winter days amusing. I especially love seasonal Waldorf activities inspired by nature, followed by Waldorf books that are helping us understand

As a waldorf teacher I create these 3" peg doll felt gnomes for my class each year. Valuing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), a variety of skin tones are available. Each pine wood peg doll contains plant dyed wool felt, beads, embroidery and beading thread. The light pegs are unfinished, the medium pegs finished with beeswax and the dark dyed with black tea and beeswax. Because of their size and shape they are not intended for unsupervised play for children under 3 years old.

we're currently shacking up in a beachside resort while we look for more permanent digs. as well as it's fair share of 'weekenders', there are some other 'residents' here. our small folk have become part of a little posse of small folk who live here. yesterday we were invited to a birthday party for one of aforementioned posse. a wee treasure bag was stitched this morning then passed over to the smalls to fill. they chose four found treasures, "one from each of us, mama". simple. happy. from…
