Onyx and Reticulated Sterling Silver Link Bracelet

Black Onyx & Reticulated Silver link bracelet, smooth & textured, a stunning combination of contrasts. This is a 7 1/4" sterling silver 11 link bracelet consisting of 5 graduated black onyx links and 6 reticulated silver links, all set in custom made bezels for each segment. The center link's black onyx measures 3/4" x 1/2", tapering down to the smallest links measuring 3/8" x 1/4" and finished off with a lobster clasp. All the reticulated links are oxidized to bring out the textures. The surrounding silver is all satin finished, further accentuating the onyx and texture. Each of the pieces is linked to the next by 3 handmade jumprings giving the entire bracelet flexibility. It's so fluid and drapes the wrist comfortably. Stunning! Classy enough for a man or woman. Reticulated silver, in short, is produced by heating and cooling a sheet of silver six times to bring the fine silver to the surface. Then, finally the piece is brought up to almost melting temperature, with a torch, so that the top layer starts to wrinkle. The direction and control of the flame somewhat determines what the metal texture will be. The result is a wrinkly sheet of metal which I then can then cut, shape and use as I wish. This was a very labor intensive project since the reticulation and all the metal components were hand made by me. Each bezel was hand made to fit each individual onyx & silver segment. I even made the jumprings. Marked .925 and my maker's mark. One of a kind of course.
