I am very excited to introduce you to my new sofa called the Salthrop Sofa. It's based on the Burnham sofa my Dad designed over 40 years ago. I have updated it with a more contemporary look and made the arms a bit lower and added our signature bow ties to the loose cover to make them really easy to change over for cleaning. It has very generous proportions with a wonderfully deep seat and comes with five scatter cushions, three large and two standard sizes. The seat cushions are 70% duck feather and 30% down. This one is a 3 seater floral sofa in the grand traditional style combining poppies, lilies and lilac, influenced by the Dutch floral paintings of the 16th and 17th century but we can make them to any size and with any fabric. A joyous beautiful sofa made by hand in the UK and the US using all natural materials with a large dollop of comfort. Looking after them: Our wonderful team put a great deal of love and care into making each one of our sofas, here are some of the main guidelines for looking after them. Natural materials perform very differently from the man-made foam fillings that are in most of the sofas you’ll find today. Each cushion is filled by hand with European Duck Feather. Take care to plump them in a similar way you would plump a feather bed pillow. The plumping moves the feathers around, pushing fresh air in between them which makes them even more comfy. Please take care to check the care instructions before washing your covers and know that it is advisable to wash all elements equally, because colour will likely fade a little each time you clean them.
