They are perched on gold branches that are plastic that are painted and will not break as natural ones would. Its all placed on a horse hair 14" circle. It's called horse hair because years ago it was made with horse hair and the name stuck. It is attached to a satin covered skinny headband and is adjustable. It's very comfortable and will fit any size head.
