CARE OF YOUR STERLING SILVER JEWELRY To prevent tarnishing (shining) on your jewelry: * Store your jewelry in a safe, cool, dry and dark place * Storing your pieces separately prevents any chance of them scratching or tangling with each other. * Do not drop your jewelry if it has natural stones or crystals, these may break. * Avoid exposing your jewelry to chemical grooming products, hair sprays, perfume and body creams. * Avoid bathing, swimming in pools, exercising or going to the beach; if you do, clean the parts when you get home. HOW TO CLEAN SILVER JEWELRY 1 Apply a small amount of silver jewelry cleaner to a soft cloth. 2. Gently rub the silver with the cloth several times. 3. Rinse the silver thoroughly with warm water. 4. Dry and shine your silver with a jewelry cloth or polishing gloves. This will remove tarnish and restore shine. HOMEMADE WAY TO CLEAN YOUR SILVER JEWELRY White vinegar and baking soda: This gentle cleaning method is great for removing tarnish. Soak the silver in ½ cup of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of baking soda for an hour. Rinse the jewelry and dry it very well. Finish with a polish: After you have thoroughly cleaned your jewelry, you can finish the process using a silver-specific polishing cloth. You can repeat this process as many times as necessary.
