Next Chapter Society
Join a network of dedicated emerging leaders who support and empower one of our city’s greatest resources – Nashville Public Library.
The Carnegie Society is an exclusive group of civic-minded individuals dedicated to making our city a more vibrant, literate, and connected place to live and work. The generous gifts from our members allow Nashville Public Library to sustain programs that change the lives of more than 600,000 Nashville residents.
The commitment made by monthly givers makes it possible for the library to respond to the growing and changing needs of our city. Library sustainers are the solid foundation on which we depend. This continuous stream of income allows us to spend less on overhead and more on the vital programs that make our library a community treasure.
Nashville Public Library Foundation urges you to register as an NPL Ambassador to join other library supporters who connect elected officials with their local library branches to communicate the importance of NPL. Libraries are essential. They are as integral to our quality of life and well-being as waste collection, water, and electricity. Every Nashvillian deserves access to adequately-funded libraries with facilities, resources, and staff to provide quality educational support, cultural programming, and economic and job development programs.
Are you interested in volunteering with Nashville Public Library Foundation? We occasionally have opportunities for individuals to assist with a variety of tasks, including occasional office work and events.
The Library is always looking for support with shelving, scanning and pulling books, as well as opportunities to help patrons. You can also join a Friends of the Library group by connecting with your branch location and branch manager.
