Go Ahead Rui, Make My Day
Often people ask me what is your favorite website/blog. I tell them its Rui’s The Tao of Mac. Why? Because when is not dismissing the Web 2.0 hype, the madness over muni wifi, he is busy coming up the best one (or two) liners.
All the fuss about the new crop of media-oriented PCs has had me thinking that the entire PC industry keeps barking up the wrong tree. After all, the expense of shrinking a PC while ensuring it is capable of running Windows XP for the purpose of time-shifting TV has got to be one of the most wasteful engineering endeavors ever.
Rui, I need to get SoonR to send you a dev version of their SoonR for Mac. Its Citrix for rest of us 🙂 Also, why can’t someone make a Wiki with Comments? I would like PBwiki mashed with Vanilla. Web 2.0 goodness

Who Is Plaxo Buying?
Earlier this week, I got an interesting little email about Plaxo making a “strategic acquisition of a popular online calendar developed by five enterprising fraternity brothers at a prestigious university. Plaxo will integrate it into their ‘smart’ address book and calendar service.” Interesting question? My Best Guess would be Kiko… Niall and Richard say its not Kiko. Any thoughts? I guess we should know by tomorrow morning anyway. Update: Its HipCal!

Tap Tap Tap….
Three days and still no blogging…. it is actually quite therapeutic. I am typing away writing next month’s cover story for the magazine, working on a scoop and thankfully finished one. Still, looking at the blogs this morning, I realized that did not miss much in terms of the big story except for the new Vonage S-1, but that I will get to when I have time. Its an IPO that is so not happening, atleast if investors have any common sense.
Regardless, Andy and others are doing a good job of explaining what is going on in the world of VoIP, especially the new Yahoo IM with voice and their deal with AT&T. And thank god I did not blog about some of the big stories of the week. Blogging Stocks network…. say what! Say why? Say whatever….
