On the other side of the ocean, in Boston, Kaitlin Wilson is researching her family tree. She unearths a fascinating story, but her research forces her to confront uncomfortable truths about the past, as she uncovers an unexpected connection to Ireland in famine times.

I liked the story but found it to be more drawn out at times than it needed to be; it was easily a few chapters longer than needed. I had to will myself to finish the book. That said, I enjoyed learning about the different characters and their stories, their lives and how they, unbeknownst to them, intertwined.
