A secret map inspires a thrilling treasure hunt across the universe as young Jim Hawkins and a hilarious cosmic crew headed by the daring Captain Amelia set off in search of their destiny. Aboard a glittering space galleon, Jim meets the ship's cyborg cook, John Silver, who teaches him the value of friendship and the power of dreams. Jim soon teams up with his crazy new robot pal, B.E.N., and the shape-shifting Morph to discover a treasure greater than he ever imagined.

I watched this movie when I was little once, then I got the VHS of it, then the 10th anniversary DVD Blu-ray combo pack and now I watch it almost every day. The voicing is fantastic and the music is my favorite score of any movie. Ever. And to think that it's just Treasure Island but is space is a fantastic idea. The story is fantastic, as well as the climax and the characters are so well defined I feel like I actually know them and they're tangible. This is my favorite movie in the whole wide world.

Based off an otherwise perfectly fine novel, Disney really let the ball drop on this one. The animation was enough to give even the most casual of moviegoers nightmares, and the "morals" in the tale were merely thrown in as a little something extra for those of us who look for a little something more then just being spellbound by incredible (and usually vividly-colored) landscape destruction. While BEN was mildly amusing, the other people were as lifeless as the skeletons they discovered in the all-too predictable climax. Silver's face was like a lump of play-doh, that longed to be shaped by more skilled hands. The captain was simply annoying, and the little dog-cat humor interlaced between her and the doctor/scientist was nothing short of LAME In short, no, I do not recommend. (PS: Someone sue Jim's barber for doing such a lousy job on his hair...)

It is such an amazing movie. Much like Big Hero 6, the main role is a male with no romance involved. Pure adventure, yet also teaches young children that people can pull through and change for the better at any given moment in time. (I actually watched it so much as a kid, I proudly memorized the entire script.)
