Certificate in International Policy and Planning
In an era where many policy decisions have global impact, there is demand for leaders who bring new perspective to agreements or organizations that operate across national boarders. The graduate Certificate in International Policy and Planning strengthens a student’s understanding of global policy, planning and public management issues, while underscoring the comparative differences in approach and governance institutions across nations.
The Certificate in International Policy and Planning consists of 14 units of graduate course work.

Elective Courses (6 units)
Certificate elective courses may be taken within the Price School or in other schools at USC. Electives must be chosen from three topic areas: international development; urbanization, policy issues and sustainability; and global health. They are to be selected in consultation with and approved by the faculty advisor for the certificate program, and they should be chosen to garner well-rounded preparation for professional practice in a globalized context.
Admission Requirements and Application Procedures
Current USC Graduate Students — Applicants for the Certificate in International Policy and Planning who are currently enrolled in a graduate program at USC and are in good standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA should submit the following materials:
- Addition of Degree Form
- Enter contact information at top of the form.

Prospective Applicants — Applicants who have not matriculated at USC must make a formal application at the USC Graduate Admission website.
Applicants must submit the following items:

3. A written statement of approximately 1,500 words addressing the following questions:
- Why are you interested in pursuing the Certificate in International Policy and Planning?
