I'd never appreciated the beauty and variety of calico cats before I got into taking kitty pictures on my trip to Morocco. For whatever reason, perhaps because I grew up in a gray tabby household, these cats simply weren't on my cat radar. But there were just so many calicoes in the Moroccan cat population, and I became fascinated by the variety of patterns. Jigsaw genetic patterns of coat color.

On a day when Britain basked in the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching a sizzling 27c (81f), who could blame Larry the cat for taking it easy.
