This is a photographic tour of my lost wax casting process - a detailed though brief tutorial, and also gives a look at how much work goes in to each ring.

from wax to metal 🕯️ crafted from recycled sterling silver using the ancient lost wax casting process, each piece starts from a block of wax that i carve, melt and engrave before sending it off to get cast into metal. all of these one off beauties are still available & looking for their forever homes!

Here is the last jewellery project I designed from my model making course which ended in January. It was my first real project where I had to do a lot of tiny intricate carving. The cuff bracelets I made were easier to work with because I had more surface area and the designs weren't detailed, although of course it took much longer to finish each bracelet. When the wax pieces are made, put into a ‘tree’ and the investment is poured in, it takes 2 hours for it to dry and will then be in the kiln for a total of 9 hours before I can pour the melted silver into the investment. I’ve already made another four rings which will hopefully turn out ok 🤞🏼"
