Celebrate your upcoming marriage or hand fasting in lovely old world style. The rings are my original design and are cast in sterling silver using an ancient process called Lost Wax Casting. The earliest known example of lost wax casting is a Bronze Age amulet dating back 6000 years. A bit of modern alchemy has made its way into the process over the years but, at its heart, the technique is the same as it was millennia ago. It begins with a wax model that is covered in a plaster-like mold material. Once the mold dries it is heated to the point that the wax flows out of it leaving a void inside in the shape of the original model. Molten metal is then poured into void to create an exact metal copy the original model. I personally sculpt all of the models used to create the casting molds for my jewelry and, after casting, I hand finish and polish every piece in my workshop. SPECIFICATIONS: The man's ring is approximately 7.3mm (.295in) wide and is the ring shank is 1.8mm (.063in) thick. The woman's ring is approximately 6 mm (.25in) wide and is the ring shank is 1.3mm (.043in) thick. If that should happen and you would like to brighten the appearance of your piece, we recommend lightly polishing it using a Sunshine Cloth® or comparable high quality polishing cloth specifically designed for jewelry. NEVER use harsh chemicals or abrasives to clean any jewelry. IF YOUR ITEM HAS A PATINA (dark finish): The patina has been sealed to help it last. However, please be aware that no seal is permanent and the patina will change over time through normal wear and tear and natural oxidation. More often than not, the natural aging of the piece will add to its beauty. To protect your jewelry's patina, NEVER use harsh chemicals, tarnish removers, abrasives, or ultra sonic cleaners to clean your item.
