Gumball Machine Cake (Rolo wrapper for the "penny")

Covered in scratch made fondant with gumpaste details. Completely edible other than the glass bowl. Ordered for a photographer's candy themed birthday party. Can't wait to see the pic's of her dessert table! Inspired by Pastry Chick. =)

Made this cake for my own 5 year old son today. 4 layers of 6" rounds for base of gumball machine. Glass globe found at Michaels last year. Clearly made it too heavy on top- oh well! Live and learn! :)

Gumball machine cake! 4 6-inch cake layers. First red, smooth with hot (slightly wet) spatula. Use dowells in cake. Top with new/clean round flower vase filled with gum balls. Edge with icing!
