You don’t have to make a mini skirt, you can make a maxi skirt , process would be exactly the same. Fold it in half lengthwise, wrap it around your waist, keep one end slightly higher and wrap your body with the rest of the scarf . Try to tie both ends. If you are not able to tie the ends , roll / fold the fabric on your waist down . “The roll” will keep it together." Grab the fabric in front of you , cover your torso , as soon as your reach collarbone start twisting the fabric , loop it around your neck , bring it under the fabric and loop it over it ( you don’t have to loop it over the fabric if it feels like it’s too much fabric for you) . Here’s a fun fashion hack how to make a cute summer top from a sarong and a necklace!

Another fun idea to repurpose your garments when you are traveling light! You can wear this top with nice trousers to dinner and look very chic, no one will know it’s a sarong / pareo . You can use a scarf for this as well.

Hang the sarong over your necklace, about half way , make sure the necklace is strong enough to handle the weight of the sarong ( you can also use a string or a thin ribbon if you don’t want to use a necklace). Roll up the outside part of the sarong in your fingers and tie it on your neck. Fold over the part that is hanging until you reach the desired length and tie ends on the back.
