ROYAL DAMASK STENCIL. (14" x 18") This high quality, large (14x18"), 10 mil Mylar stencil will create a beautiful image. Use it to add heaps of vintage flair to your furniture, walls, fabric (cushions, tote bags, etc), or other decor and craft projects. If you apply them to a chalk painted surface, once dry you can distress the image (lightly sand) for an aged look. ❤ Use stencil with paint or create a raise stencil with Dixie Belle Mud. HOW TO STENCIL *Tape the edges of the stencil to your surface firmly with low tack tape. *Lighty dip your brush in your paint and dab off the excess on a paper towel. *Apply paint in a with a relatively dry brush. *Use a vertical pounce motion (up and down) until all areas are covered. *Once dried, you can repeat the process if you want a darker look. *CAREFULLY remove the stencil. *Wash the stencil in soapy water while the paint is still wet so it will be ready to use for your next project. VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure you have very little paint on your brush tool. TOO MUCH PAINT WILL BLEED UNDER THE STENCIL! STENCIL TOOLS Use a stencil brush, dauber or makeup sponge. You can also use a round paint brush - just wrap the bristle with low tack tape - this will make the bristles more sturdy for pounching. ABOUT BLEEDING If you experience bleeding you are using too much paint. Consider using a repositionable spray adhesive to temporarily adhere the stencil to your surface and therefore minimize bleed. (Use any brand, but we like Krylon® Easy-Tack™ Repositionable Adhesive.)
