The story behind the shelf: When I was a junior in high school, my dad was just recovering from a very rare and horrible disease that attacked his nervous system. There were many times in middle school and high school that I wondered how much longer he might be around. I wanted to learn something from my dad and do something fun together at home. I chose a wood-working project and this is what we came up with- after re-working dimensions of a shelf we saw on pinterest. Since then, he has miraculously recovered and we have continued on to make shelves that spell "FAITH, HOPE, & LOVE." This was inspired by the scripture in the Bible that says "now these three remain, faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." And that has been my experience. We must hold onto hope and faith, but love in the end is what conquers all.
