Robert Lee Morris is one of the leaders in the field of art to wear. He began this aspect of his career in the 1970's and focused on sculptural and organic forms. Morris worked with many fashion designers and collaborated with Donna Karan in 1985 on her first collection. Morris has won numerous awards in the fields of fashion and jewelry. Morris's work is done in silver; gold; bronze and 24 karat matte gold plating. This pendant necklace is unusual in that it is made entirely of 18 karat gold. It consists of a hammered gold choker from which are suspended seven rectangular medallions of different sizes. The medallions overlap one another. The entire medallion measures 2 inches in length. Small rivets on the reverse allow it to be worn featuring either side. The necklace is sold in the original velvet pouch with Morris's initials.
