- "It's fallen. The Protector has fallen."
"How could this have happened? How could we have fallen so far? That statue, it was Jedha itself. The very core of who we are, the symbol of the Holy City. Without it…without it we are just thugs fighting in the streets while the city crumbles." - ―Creighton Sun and Mesook, during the Battle of Jedha
The Final Protector,[3] also known simply as the Protector,[1] or as the Sentinel,[5] was a statue made of sandstone[4] that stood in the Dunes of Contemplation[3] on the moon Jedha outside the Holy City which it stood in watch over. It was a preferred meditation spot of Jedi Oliviah Zeveron who escaped there when she was tired of the Convocation.[6] During the Battle of Jedha, a crowd of protestors congregated to tear the statue down, despite the arrival of Zeveron and Master Leebon.[3]
