Auto click (dwell timing)

If you use a mouse with your Android device, you can set the cursor to take action automatically when the cursor stops moving for a certain amount of time. This feature can be helpful for users with motor impairments.

Step 1: Connect a mouse to your Android device

Attach a mouse to your Android device using Bluetooth or USB. Check your device instructions for details, such as these steps for connecting a phone or tablet.

Step 2: Turn on auto click (dwell timing)

  1. Open your device's Settings app .
  2. Tap Accessibility, then tap Auto click (dwell timing). On some devices, this setting is called Click after pointer stops moving.
  3. Select your preferred amount of time between when you stop moving the mouse and when the automatic click happens:
    • Short (0.2 seconds)
    • Medium (0.6 seconds)
    • Long (1 second)
    • Custom

Step 3: Use auto click

  1. Move the mouse to the place you want to click.
  2. Stop moving the mouse.
  3. The click happens automatically.
