You can change the names of assets or folders in the asset library. Read more below to find out how to rename them and what the limits are for names.
Rename an asset or folder
- Find the asset you want to rename.
- Click
Rename. A window opens with the current name.
- Change the name following the guidelines below.
- Click Rename. The asset or folder name is updated. If there are problems with the new name, you'll get an error instead.
Folder name guidelines
- 1–100 characters long
- Can only include numbers, letters (in any language), spaces, hyphens, underscores, square brackets, curly brackets, and periods
- Can only start with a letter or number
- Can't end with a space
- Folders in the same folder can't have the same name
Asset name guidelines
- 1–128 characters long
- Can't end with a space
- Assets in the same folder can't have the same name
