Because of how complex HTML5 ads can be, you might have trouble uploading your zipped files to an ad platform. To avoid these problems, you can upload your .zip file to Ads Creative Studio. Ads Creative Studio uses the same HTML5 validation checks as Display & Video 360 and Campaign Manager 360. If you're building an HTML5 ad for either of these platforms and you don't have access to an account, try using Ads Creative Studio instead.
About HTML5 validations
Ads Creative Studio supports HTML5 display ads for Campaign Manager 360 and Display & Video 360. HTML5 display ads for Google Ads aren't supported.
When you upload an HTML5 display ad, Ads Creative Studio checks the following:
- HTML file contains either correctly formatted click tags or the Enabler
- HTML file contains no anchor tags (for example,
<a>
) - All links are secure (links must start with https://)
- No assets loaded by your files are missing in the .zip
- No unsupported file types are in the .zip
Test an HTML5 upload
- Go to Ads Creative Studio.
- On the Projects page, click NewDisplayHTML5.
- Drag your .zip file into the window that opens, or click Choose files to upload and select your .zip.
- If you see an error message, fix the error, then re-upload your .zip file to confirm it's fixed.
- If there are no errors, your .zip file is valid.
- If your Ads Creative Studio account is linked to Display & Video 360 or Campaign Manager 360, you can select the ad platform and create a new project with your file. If your accounts aren't linked, send the .zip file to your media or trafficking team.
