How impressions and clicks are counted for Twitter ads

Impression tag

When using the impression tag, Twitter products share ad impressions and engagements data (including click events) with Google Campaign Manager 360. 

Click tag

When using the click tag, Twitter products share click events from ads with Google Campaign Manager 360.

The measurement source for Twitter ads is "provided.” Learn more.

Limitations

  • Third-party tracking with dynamic publisher tags is not supported for Twitter measurement on Campaign Manager 360. 
  • When using the click tag, enhanced attribution is required to track click conversions in Campaign Manager 360. Advertisers will need to upgrade their configuration to support enhanced attribution. The Google tag is required, but if Google Tag Manager is deployed, this is also acceptable.
