The privacy of our users is of utmost importance to Google. While we welcome you to contribute content that illustrates your world, it's critical that you do so in a manner that respects the privacy preferences of others. We reserve the right to remove content, including in response to user reports. Read on for more information on how we handle privacy requests for content that appears on Maps and Street View.
When we create Street View content from 360 video recordings submitted by users, we apply our algorithms to automatically blur faces and license plates. When users submit non-video content, we do not apply the blurring technology automatically, but users can employ the blurring tool in third-party tools and imagery editors if they want to apply blurring to their own photos. If you find your face, license plate, or home in a user contribution and you wish to have the image removed, use the report a problem feature on the image.
You should not under any circumstances publish photos or videos taken from the interior of private residences or from any other publicly inaccessible locations or no photo zones. Photos and videos from other private locations should not be published without the owner’s consent.
Be a good neighbor and don't publish photos or videos in which people are identifiable without their permission. This is particularly important in sensitive locations, where people may object to publishing their image.
We don’t allow content that contains private or confidential information such as credit card details, medical records, or government–issued identification — whether yours or someone else’s.
