Request third-party apps access for students

This article is for Google Workspace for Education users.

With a Google Workspace for Education Account, you can request access to third-party apps for your students from your Google Workspace admin.

Access third-party apps

For access to third-party apps with your Google Workspace for Education account, you can submit a request from this app requests page. Apps that you've recently used with your account will automatically show up on this page. If you don't have access to this page, your Google Workspace admin may need to turn on app requests. Learn more about third-party and internal apps access controls.

To request access for:

  • A single app:
  1. On the right of the app you want to request for access, click Request access for students.
  2. Enter the email addresses of the students or groups you want to add.
  3. Click Send.
  • Multiple apps:
  1. Check the box next to the apps you want to request for access.
  2. At the top right, click Request access for students.
  3. Enter the email addresses of the students or groups you want to add.
  4. Click Send.

Once you've submitted your request, your Google Workspace admin will have the chance to review and approve those requests through the Google Workspace Admin Console.

Tip: Students under 18 can't access unconfigured third-party apps with their Google Workspace for Education account. To access these apps, an admin needs to grant them access. Learn more about administrator third-party controls.
