My account isn’t eligible for Google Fi

If you have trouble signing up for Google Fi, it may be because your Google Voice or Google Account isn’t eligible. In some cases, you can make changes to make it eligible. In other cases, you need to use a different Google Account.

Issue with payments

I don’t have a valid U.S. address on payments.google.com
Google Fi is only available in the U.S. You need a valid U.S. address in payments.google.com. Learn how to change your address.
I have a Google Payments Merchant Account registered outside the U.S.
Google Payment Merchant Accounts registered outside the U.S. aren’t eligible for Google Fi. You need to sign up for a new Google Account

Is my Google Account eligible?

Most Google Accounts can be used with Google Fi. These include:

  • Google Accounts with "@gmail.com" email addresses.
  • Accounts that use your own domain name, like work or school accounts.
  • Other Google Accounts, like "@yahoo.com" or "@hotmail.com" email addresses.

Google Accounts for work or school

If you have a work or school Google Account, also known as Google Workspace, your administrator has to first turn on Google Fi service and Google Payments. Otherwise, to use Google Fi, sign up with a new Google Account.
