Image ads can include HTML5 to create animated images and other features. Using HTML5 thoughtfully allows you to make your ads more interesting and interactive. Follow these steps to upload HTML5 files to an image ad or app ad in Google Ads Editor.

Upload HTML5 files for image ads
- In the account tree, select the account where you’d like to add HTML5 assets.
- Under “Manage,” select Ads, and then click Image ads.
- In the data view, select one or more ads.
- In the edit panel, click on the image thumbnail to open the “Image” panel on the right.
- Choose the HTML5.
- To add a new HTML5 asset, click +Add at the bottom (files must be compressed in a .zip file).
- To select an existing HTML5 asset, choose one from the list in the “Image” panel.
Note
Google Ads Editor doesn't accept Flash files for image ads.
Upload HTML5 files for app ads
You can upload HTML5 assets for “app ads for installs”.
- In the account tree, select the account where you’d like to add HTML5 assets.
- Under “Manage,” select Ads, and then click App ads for installs.
- In the edit panel, under “HTML5” click the HTML5 box.
- A selection panel will open to the right where you can select from either previously used HTML5 files or click +Add to add a new file from your computer.
