Leave a device for the next resident
To give a device to another person, first perform a factory reset:

Open the Google Home app .

Tap and hold your device's tile.

Tap Settings Remove device Remove.

Perform a factory reset. A factory reset will reset your speaker or display to its default factory settings.
Note: This action will clear your data from the device and can't be undone.
Bring a device to your new home
If you're changing your Wi-Fi network
If you want to bring your speaker or display to a new home, and you have a new Wi-Fi router or Internet service provider (ISP), follow the steps to change the Wi-Fi network of your Google speaker or display.
If your router and Wi-Fi network will stay the same
Once you've set up your Wi-Fi network in your new home, plug in your speaker or display. It will automatically connect to your network and be ready to use.
Set up a device left by a previous resident
If you decide to use a speaker or display left by its previous owner, follow these steps:

Perform a factory reset if it hasn't been done already.

To give a device to another person, follow the instructions below. If you have a Nest Aware subscription, make sure that you cancel your subscription.

Perform a factory reset. A factory reset will reset your thermostat, doorbell or camera to its default factory settings.

Bring a device to your new home
If your Wi-Fi network will change
If you want to bring your thermostat to a new house or flat, and you have a new Wi-Fi router or Internet service provider (ISP), follow the steps to connect your thermostat to the new Wi-Fi network.
If your router and Wi-Fi network will stay the same
Once you've set up your Wi-Fi network in your new home, install your thermostat. It will automatically connect to your network and be ready to use.

Important: If you try to set up your Nest camera and get a message that says it's already in use by another account, you'll need to wait for the camera's current video history to expire before you can add it to your account. This can take up to 60 days, but may happen sooner.
