How to Clean Your Google Pixel Buds Pro 2
Important
-
Don't use any chemical detergent, powder, or other chemical agents (such as alcohol or benzene) to clean the earbuds or the charging case.
-
Don't clean the earbuds or the charging case while they are charging.
Clean the charging case
-
Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to gently clean the exterior of the charging case. You can also use the cloth or cotton swab to clean inside the charging case's magnetized pods, especially the charging contacts, to remove any built-up material. Clean charging contacts ensure that earbuds reliably charge and update successfully.
-
If necessary, you can apply water with a damp, lint-free cloth to gently remove scuff marks on the exterior of the charging case. To avoid damage, avoid getting moisture into any openings, like the USB-C® port.
-
Don't use any liquid, including water, to clean the inside of the charging case.
Clean the earbuds
-
Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to gently clean the earbuds, including the charging contacts.
-
When cleaning the earbuds, remove the eartips and carefully remove any earwax or lint around the eartip and mesh area of the snout. A clean snout and mesh area will ensure that sound quality and volume aren't negatively impacted.
-
If necessary, you can apply water with a damp, lint-free cloth or cotton swab to gently remove built-up material or scuff marks. To avoid damage, avoid getting moisture into any openings.
-
For each set of Google Pixel Buds, we recommend different earbud cleaning methods:
-
A-series: Only use your lint-free cloth.
-
Pro and Pro 2: First, use your lint-free cloth and if there is still debris, use an adhesive putty.
-
-
Reattach the eartips and make sure they are firmly attached to the buds again. Wipe the buds and their charging contact area dry when putting them back into the charging case. The Google Pixel Buds A-series case isn't water resistant.
Give your ears a rest
- If you experience any discomfort or irritation, such as redness, soreness, tingling, numbness, burning or stiffness, remove your device and give your ears a break. If symptoms persist, please contact our customer support and consider contacting a dermatologist.

Don't submerge your Pixel Buds or its case in any liquid or hold them under running water, as doing so may damage your device(s).
If water touches the earbud sensors (rain, sweat, etc.) or gets on the actual pad, Google Pixel Buds may recognize this as a gesture. To avoid this, turn off gestures in wet environments.Related resources:
