As you may have seen, a US District Court recently ordered changes to Android and Google Play in the ongoing US legal proceedings with Epic Games. Following that ruling, we asked the courts to pause the proposed changes to Google Play and Android. On October 18, 2024 the district court judge granted us a temporary stay from the injunction while the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals considers our request to further pause the remedies while we appeal.
In parallel, as we announced, we are appealing the trial decision. We believe that the injunction is bad for users, developers, and OEMs. User trust and safety remains at the center of what we do, as we have always done while following our SAFE principles.
Pending this ongoing process, please note that there are no changes to our policies in the US. Changes in the future, if any, will be published and announced on this page.
