Save a drawing as a note

You can add drawings as notes in Google Keep. Create drawings from scratch, add drawings to existing notes, or draw on top of images.

Create a drawing

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Keep app Google Keep.
  2. At the bottom, tap New drawing note pen.
  3. Draw with your fingertip.
  4. To close the drawing, go to the top left and tap Back Back.
Add a drawing to a note
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Keep app Google Keep.
  2. Tap the note you want to add a drawing to.
  3. At the bottom, tap Add add.
  4. Tap Drawing.
  5. Draw with your fingertip.
Draw on an image
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Keep app Google Keep.
  2. If you haven’t yet, create a note, then add an image to it.
  3. Tap the note with the image you want to draw on.
  4. Tap the image.
  5. At the top right, tap the Pen pen.
  6. Draw with your fingertip.
  7. To remove a drawing from an image, tap the Eraser eraser, then tap the drawing.

Edit your drawing

To edit your drawing, open the note and tap the drawing.

  • Move the shape you’ve drawn: Tap Select select, tap your drawing, then drag it.
  • Erase a shape: Tap the Eraser eraser, then tap the shape.
  • Draw thin lines: Tap the Pen pen.
  • Draw thick lines: Tap the Marker marker.
  • Highlight: Tap the Highlighter highlighter.

To pick the color or size of the lines you draw, tap a tool twice.

Delete your drawing

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Keep app Google Keep.
  2. Tap the note that has the drawing.
  3. Tap the drawing.
  4. In the top right, tap More More.
  5. Tap Delete.
