Set up Face Unlock

1. Open the Settings app .
2. Tap Security & privacy.

Tap Device unlock.

Important: If you don’t already have a screen lock set up, you’ll be asked to add a backup PIN, pattern, or password.

Tap Face Unlock.

1. Review how Face Unlock works.
2. Scroll down.
3. Tap I agree.

Step 6 of 8

1. On the next screen, you’ll be prompted to set up your face unlock.
2. Tap Start.

Step 7 of 8

Important: When you set up Face Unlock, do not wear a mask or sunglasses.

To capture your face image, follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 8 of 8

After your face is added, tap Done.

Tip: You can only sign into apps or approve a purchase with your face on Pixel 8 and later.
