You can change the language of your search engine interface (for example, the search box and other elements) at any time. This affects only the user interface; it doesn't affect the results returned by your search engine. To restrict the returned results to a specific language instead, add a Language restrict.
If the Language setting is set to "All languages", then user's browser language is used.
Change the language of an existing search engine:
- From the list of search engines, select the search engine you want to edit.
- Under Overview, scroll down to Look and Feel.
- Beside Language, select the language you want from the drop down menu.
Note: You can include sites of any language in your search engine, regardless of what language your interface is in.
